Stoke have today made a formal enquiry into the possible signing of Birmingham's highly sort after goalkeeper.
This enquiry was made after Butland had expressed his disinterest in a move to Chelsea because he wishes to play regular first-team football.
The likelihood of this move also increases with Birmingham needing to offload some players to lighten the current wage bill at the club.
